Mobi SensDx is the base for SensDx's technology. It is a multi-purpose diagnostic platform. In addition to the mini-lab itself, the base consists of a micro USB cable for connection to an external data device, and the laboratory software SensDx App for reading answers to the test.

Own disposable bio tags and buffers (eg Flu SensDx) are calibrated against the proteins of the specific bacteria and viruses to be analyzed. These proteins must therefore be present for the sample to be positive. Based on this, SensDx's technology excludes false positive answers to the test.

Use of traditional RT-PCR involves a risk of false positive results on the sample.

This is due to that PCR detects RNA gene material, which is also found in dead and inactive viruses after a course of the disease. In addition, cross-reactions with the genetic material of other pathogenic microbes can give false positive answers. Both false-positive and false-negative answers to tests have significant health / socio-economic consequences, which is made clear in the ongoing SARS-Cov-2 pandemic.

The technology also makes it possible to detect the presence of specific pathogenic microorganisms in an early stage of the disease. In this way, an adequate treatment strategy can be implemented quickly, as well as avoiding misuse of resistance-driving antibiotics.

Procedure using SensDx test

Take a sample, use a swab in a deep nose or back throat
Mix the sample with the extraction buffer in a test tube
Apply extraction buffer to microsensor
Start measurement, and the result is ready within approx. 5 min
The results are then presented immediately in the SensDx app in Windows 10 (required) on the device
