Does Digitalized Rapid Diagnostic Readers (RDR) Improve Sensitivity?

Recent studies, such as those published in Microchimica Acta (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00604-021-05037-z) and Lab on a Chip (https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlehtml/2019/lc/c9lc00104b), have significantly enhanced the sensitivity of Lateral Flow Assays (LFAs). These studies highlight how integrating digital optical readers can significantly improve the detection capabilities of LFAs by increasing their sensitivity and reducing false negatives.

Building on these findings, NordicDx has conducted its own research using our advanced iaX Rapid Diagnostic Reader (RDR).

In our recent tests, particularly with an Avian Influenza Virus (H5N1) LFA, we observed a remarkable increase in sensitivity?from 96% to over 98%?when using our digitalized RDR. This improvement aligns with the trends highlighted in the literature, showcasing how optical readers can play a critical role in redefining rapid diagnostics by offering more accurate and reliable results.
